Alan Lynch, MD
Alan Lynch, MD currently serves as Chief Medical Officer of The Mental Health Cooperative, Inc. and Clinical Assistant of Psychiatry at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.
Dr. Lynch is certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He also is certified in addiction medicine by the American Society of Addiction Medicine and in clinical psychopharmacology by the American Society of Clinical Psychopharmacology. His clinical interests include bipolar and psychotic disorders, and he is a member of numerous professional organizations.
In 2004, he received the “Psychiatrist of the Year Award” from the Middle Tennessee chapter of the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill.
Dr. Lynch earned his undergraduate degree from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkansas, and master's degrees in divinity and philosophy at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky., and Baylor University in Waco, Texas respectively. He received his doctorate in medicine from the College of Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Ark. Residency training and a fellowship in addiction psychiatry were completed at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
