Director of Emergency Psychiatric Services

 

Amanda Myatt currently serves as Director of Emergency Psychiatric Services at the Mental Health Cooperative (MHC).  Amanda first became interested in working with the seriously and persistently mentally ill in 1996 when she was a graduate intern at the Metro-Nashville Public Defender’s Office.  After completing her graduate work in 1997, she accepted a position as crisis counselor with the Davidson County Mobile Crisis Team at MHC. In 1998, Amanda returned to the Public Defender’s Office where she specialized in working with neglected and dependent children and families in Juvenile Court.  In June of 2001, she accepted a position to oversee the newly created Criminal Justice Services Program at MHC.  In June of 2007, Amanda returned to crisis services when she was named Director of Emergency Psychiatric Services. 

 

Amanda earned her bachelor’s degree from Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville, TN and her master’s degree in clinical social work from the University of Tennessee.
