Immediate Suboxone Treatment for Nashville TennCare Members

NASHVILLE, TN (October 11, 2019) – Nashville’s emergency responders continue to experience high volumes of patients that have overdosed on opiates.  Novel treatments for those addicted to opiates can be costly and difficult to initiate keeping patients from getting the help they desperately need when they are ready for it.  For those struggling with the dual effects of opiate addiction and poverty-level income, hope can simply seem out of reach.

Mental Health Cooperative (MHC) of Nashville, a local non-profit, opened a Suboxone Clinic last month for this very reason.  “MHC has always been dedicated to serving our most vulnerable citizens,” said Pam Womack, Chief Executive Officer. “Opiate addiction is very serious business and requires a comprehensive treatment model that is accessible when the patient is ready, has all necessary services under one roof and is supported by a mountain of evidence.”

MHC’s Suboxone Clinic offers compassionate, blame and stigma-free treatment by two outstanding physicians, Oba Hollie, MD, and David Patzer, MD.  Both have been working with medication-assisted treatment for many years and understand how extremely limited income can contribute to the challenges patients face. In addition to medication-assisted treatment, MHC also offers community care management.  Care managers help clients achieve success in the community by connecting them with the resources they need, including housing, food, clothing, transportation, financial supports and eligibility benefits.

MHC also offers trauma-informed counseling including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Psychiatry is available for those who could benefit as well as on-site primary care, crisis services, and pharmacy.

MHC welcomes calls for additional information or to schedule a convenient appointment to get started (615) 743-1555.  MHC’s Suboxone Clinic is located in Metro Center at 260 A. Cumberland Bend Drive.
